HBKU Press and KUDOS

Qscience has been subscribed to Kudos since 2015 and sees great benefit in it for HBKUP-published researchers.

Kudos, for those who aren’t familiar with the platform, is a service that allows researchers to directly share their articles on a variety of social media platforms and increases the chances of exposure for research material in an increasingly crowded space. So if you’re keen to for more people to read and understand your work, read on…

If you’re not familiar with what Kudos does, here’s a simple rundown of what is offered:

1.Kudos provides a platform for you to explain your research work – you can add a short title, a lay summary (“what it’s about”), an impact statement (“why is it important?”). Authors and co-authors can also add their own personal perspectives, and links to additional resources such as slide decks, data sets, and more

2.Kudos makes it easy for you to share your work, by linking up to your social media accounts. Alternatively, you can create a trackable link which can be used in any communications you make about your work.

3.And Kudos provides a range of metrics so that you can see what difference your activities make – how many people have followed your shares, downloads of your publications, and even citations.

Kudos helps you broaden your readership and increase the chances of citation, ensuring the maximum possible exposure and impact for your work.

There are tons of researchers publishing new material regularly, and every researcher wants their work to be seen by the intended audience. Researchers who proactively explain and share their posts through Kudos have statistically seen a correlation of 23% more downloads of their publications.
